At the World Headquarters of Electronic Cafe International(ECI), the newly
formed LA VRML Users Group announced firm plans to produce its first public event. In the spirit of community that launched VRML as an emerging global medium in the last two years, the VRML Barn Raising of ECI brought together most of Southern California's top VRML companies, designers, and authoring tools, for a unique, two-day weekend of VRML 2.0 production, experimentation, and collaborative creation.

No former VRML experience was required to participate. Many of the
founding LA VRML members served as VRML Mentors, to aid in the process of
building ECI VRML and educating others in the process. A total of 36
people from varying backgrounds came together at ECI, utilizing the unique
properties of VRML 2.0 to create a series of worlds representing different
aspects the telecollaborative legacy of ECI. More information about
